„Great Gatsby“ and „Vibe“

Quote from „Great Gatsby“ by Francis Scott Fitzgerald was not accidentally chosen as an introduction to my watercolor cycle entitled „The Vibes“.
The impulse for painting „Vibe“, the first picture of this series, was the initial scene of the Fitzgerald novel.
The book narrator, Nick Carraway, is visiting his friends. In one of the rooms of their spacious house located on the shores of the bay, he notices two young women. Daisy Buchanan and Blake Jordan sprawled on a wide sofa, are absorbed in their thoughts and silent contemplation. It is a hot summer afternoon, and through the wide-open windows, a sea breeze winds into the room.

And although Blake Jordan in the Fitzgerald story plays a supporting role, but her figure and independent, mysterious personality formed heroine of my painting „Vibe“. And then the picture evolved into a triptych.

Now entire „The Vibes“ series has appeared on 30 pcs. limited edition Fine Art Print (Giclée) posters. Available for purchase.
